Headed up by Liam Middleton and Matthew Salter, the Opportunity Players scheme sees nine Academy aged players from a mixture of University and rugby clubs in the Bristol region, integrate with the Bristol Rugby Academy during the summer months.
These types of schemes should be praised. I can think of a few Premiership clubs who abuse their position within the local community.
Bristol Rugby's reputation will improve and hopefully increase their fan-base. It also provides a greater opportunity to unearth hidden talent and will improve the standard of local rugby.
Well done Bristol.
